Ian Humphreys was born in Hertfordshire in 1956 and studied at
the Berkshire College of Art and Design, where he gained a BA (Hons), and at
Exeter College of Fine Art. He now lives
and works on Heir Island, West Cork, Ireland. Ian has exhibited widely
in New York, Ireland and the U.K. and his work has been
acquired by a number of public and corporate collections, including British
Rail Board, Burmah Castrol, Coopers & Lybrand, Cork University Hospital, Glaxo Smithkline, James
Capel, JP Morgan, Lawfords, Reading Museum & Art Gallery, Tate & Lyle
Sweeteners, University College Cork and Trinity College, University of Cambridge. Solo exhibitions include Lynn Strover

the annual Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London and for the Singer
Friedlander Watercolour Competition.
